It is recommended that dogs that are here for vacation should be dropped off during the morning drop-off, in order to allow for proper playtime and socializing prior to bedtime. The nightly charge includes all daycare activities so if at all possible, please bring your dog early enough to enjoy the entire day! The dogs sleep better at night after a busy day and are more relaxed when sleeping alongside dogs they’ve been playing with all day. If a late day drop off time is needed, please inquire.
Health
The following vaccines are required for all daycare pups: Bordetella, Rabies, Distemper. We recommend the Influenza vaccine, but it is not required.
Flea Control
All dogs must be on a flea/tick prevention treatment.
Medication
If your dog is on medication, we will administer it free of charge; unless it is injectable. We require all meds to be accompanied with a form of a pill pocket to help ensure ingestion. Please communicate any allergies your dog may have.
Meals
We require that you bring your dog’s kibble in a clearly labeled large ziplock bag(s). Please bring enough for the full stay plus an extra day in case of emergency. If you feed a refrigerated diet, please bring each day’s meals packaged separately and labeled accordingly.
While here for vacation care, your dog will be fed twice per day. Please specify your dog’s feeding routine. All dogs are cooled off prior to feeding and then rested after feeding. For giant or deep chested breeds we may add a bit more time to these periods.
Behavior
Not all pups are the same; some were born to party while some can be shy and/or lack confidence. We find that understanding your pup individually helps us plan their introduction on their first day. The ultimate goal is to set them up for success, this is why we require a daycare trial day for 1st time boarders. All pups must be dog friendly & people friendly.
We include you, the parent, in their initial introduction to our facility. You will see our play yards and how well your pup is acclimating with a new friend before you leave him/her for their trial day. The goal, your pup will have a great day, acclimating well with friends, the daily events & us humans and when he/she returns for their 1st vacation with us, he/she comfortably enters our facility, which is a WIN for all.
Questions & Answers
Q: How do I sign up my dog?
- A: We prefer for 1st time parents to call Happy Dog so we can fully discuss all necessary details. You the parent can ask all pertinent questions about our facility, date availability, and more and we can learn about your dog; his/her needs, personality, etc, This sharing of information helps us both determine if we are the right fit. If yes, we then proceed to scheduling the daycare trial day. Call 781.857.1239 for complete details.
Q: Is daily daycare included with the nightly boarding rate? Weekends?
- A: Yes daycare is inclusive daily with the nightly boarding rate, including weekends.
